All this comes back
Looping four channel video installation at Art In General’s Project space, 2013
The empty blue sky of space says “All this comes back to me, then goes again, and comes back again, then goes again, and I don’t care, it still belongs to me”–The blue sky adds “Don’t call me eternity, call me God if you like, all of you talkers are in paradise: the leaf is paradise, the tree stump is paradise, the paper bag is paradise, the man is paradise, the sand is paradise, the sea is paradise, the man is paradise, the fog is paradise”
Jack Kerouac, Big Sur
All this comes back presents a unending video loop that fills the front two windows of Art in General’s Storefront Project Space. Filmed on location in Jones Beach and Long Beach, Long Island, the black and white video stretches and skews tidal imagery, positioning us at the water’s edge. Waves approach and recede, creating a hypnotic rhythm that is both common and uncanny.
