 All This Comes Back

All This Comes Back is a video installation utilizing manipulated footage of ocean tides looped and projected onto panels. The organic shapes of water, rock and sky interact with panels, boxes and walls within the gallery space. The tension between nature and constructed objects further stretch and warp the imagery.

The first installation was commissioned by Courtenay Finn Art In General in New York, NY. It was installed in the storefront space and the windows were covered except for two small rectangles so that it could only be viewed by walking up to the windows and peering into the space.

The second iteration was installed in the Whitdel Art Space as part of LANDED, presented by Darkroom Detroit and curated by Millee Tibbs.

All This Comes Back - Detroit, Michigan, 2018

LANDED explores contemporary landscape photography through the work of present-day image makers who confront the mythology of these spaces and challenge the gendered and colonial history of this practice.

Curated by Millee Tibbs, LANDED explores contemporary landscape photography through the work of present-day image-makers who confront and undermine the heroic Westernized gaze upon the landscape to disrupt our expectation of a romanticized ideal.
